VHX-ED8330 4K 60Hz AVoIP Encoder/Decoder

The VHX-ED8330 is a multi-featured AVoIP universal encoder and decoder. Both of these key functions are conveniently provided within the same unit, saving on inventory and reducing potential downtime. The unit accepts HDMI signals up to 4K resolutions at 60Hz frame rate and provides a high-quality image transmission over a standard 1 Gig Ethernet network.

The VHX-ED8330 encoder/decoder allows the connected HDMI video to be compressed into 2 independent IP streams. The primary H.265 stream provides up to 4K resolution video and audio transmission with minimal latency, while the secondary H.264 stream is available for monitoring via standard software or third-party applications.

This video streaming technology uses standard protocol compatible with 1G Ethernet IGMP switchers, which incorporates Unicast and Multicast communication. Connection to the VHX-ED8330 can be by either copper or fibre by installing a SFP module in each unit. Point to point, point to multipoint and matrix switching can be achieved easily using industry standard Ethernet switchers while enhancing the installation with the POE feature. Image switching is instantaneous and seamless without any black screen or frame rolls providing a clean and smooth transition between sources.

A USB host connection allows a connected computer to extend both USB V1.1 and V2.0 signals to a VHX-ED8330 acting as a decoder, which can provide the facility for up to 5 peripherals to be added. The USB feature is ideal for keyboard and mouse use and via the VHX-7000-H5 controller each unit can become part of a KVM collaborative management system. Other control signals can also be transmitted over the same network which can be used for RS232 and CEC signals.

The VHX-ED8330 provides a highly scalable and cost-effective solution for distributing HD video and control signals. Uniquely the system can be used for both video walls and multi-viewer functions. Video walls up to a 9×9 array of monitors can be achieved using advanced signal processing techniques which provide frame synchronisation and individual bezel adjustment. Alternatively, a single VHX-ED8330 in decoder mode can be used as a free canvas, allowing up to 16 separate images to roam the available screen in different sizes and positions.

Additional features of the VHX-ED8330 include scrolling subtitles and logos together with character overlays, which allows the user to present a professional image.
